Through the years of running the training programs and PACES courses, we noticed a significant number of trainees need some backup training in addition to a course. They may not need a full 2-3 year program but certainly 3-6 months mentoring. The following categories are some of those.
Previous failures at PACES (more than 2)
Ready for PACES but not confident from just a 4 day PACES Course
Close to exhausting PACES attempts
Likely to pass PACES but wanting a flavour of the UK style training to facilitate success further NHS interviews and NHS work.
The following are the benefits of Short Primer:
One full PACES Course including MOCK (PACES Course details will be sent in separate Email)
20% discount on second PACES course (subject to availability of slots. Priority is always to first-time takers).
There are faculty sessions in the 6 Months, curriculum driven PACES training (Online sessions of History/Communication and Station-5 and Live Sessions of PACES practicals on System cases eg: CVS/Neuro/Resp/Abdo). The trainees are expected to attend these sessions physically at the Academy.
Opportunity to interact with the dedicated faculty - expert faculty as Dr Mahender Vyasabattu and Dr Kavitha Gone will review prior failure results (if any) to advise on the kind of practice needed to overcome the skill deficiencies. A total of 3 such sessions can be provided through the course.
If feasible the candidate can move to hyderabad and get to practice with our Clinical primer trainees.
Post PACES success candidates can have a single session with the expert faculty regarding future career prospects. This includes interview skills, Career progression advice etc.
PG Diploma (Gastroenterology), MRCP(UK)
From an extended PACES / Short Clinical Primer trainee to a junior faculty, the journey is one of the nicest things in my life. The support I received from the Academy especially Mahender sir, even after MRCP, helped me to be safe and efficient in a completely new and demanding UK system at UHW, Cardiff. From Dec 2020 till date, I have been enjoying my work and progress in the NHS of the UK, thanks to Osler’s and Dr Mahender Sir.
